2005 ADVANCED COMPUTER GRAPHICS
Aim The aim of the Master's Programme in Advanced Computer Graphics is to provide the student with a sound, broad technical basis in high performance computer graphics through the compulsory course set. In the final stage of the programme the students will be equipped for projects in specific application areas related to gaming, film special effects, VR and visualization through the elective course set.
Composition of the Programme The Master's Programme in Advanced Computer Graphics consist of two years (four semesters) of studies for a Master of Science (translation of the Swedish 'magisterexamen'). The first 3 semesters are occupied by courses, of which approximately half are compulsory. During the fourth and last semester the students will undertake a research project concluding with the open presentation of a Master's thesis.
The Content of the Programme The programme contains the following compulsory courses: Introduction to Computer Graphics, Concept Development and Design, Numerical methods for advanced computer graphics, Virtual Reality Technology and Programming, Modelling and Animation, Image Based Rendering, Modelling and Lighting The following elective courses are included in the for the specializations in gaming, film special effects, VR and visualization: Real-time Rendering , Scientific Visualization, Information Visualization, Research and Practice in 'Game' Design, Science Communication, Visual Culture and Technology, Advanced Global Illumination and Rendering, SFX - tricks of the trade.
