Aim:
Passed students shall be able to:
  • explain and exemplify advanced concepts of Software Engineering
  • collect, analyse and discuss the contents of scientific articles
  • write a summary of a technical area


Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Software Engineering or both courses Software Engineering Theory and Software Engineering Project. Basic course in mathematical statistics.

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
Relevant concepts are taught and discussed in a seminar series. Each student selects a subject together with the examiner and writes a self-contained summary in English. Advice will be given both individually and in some seminars.

Course contents:
Market-driven requirements engineering, formal methods for requirements, software maintenance, reuse, software metrics, models for predicting quality and cost of software, domain-oriented software engineering, tools for development processes, empirical research methods, professionalism and ethics.
