Aim:
The participants should acquire knowledge and skills regarding the design and implementation of interactive and highly graphical software, such as computer games, learning environments, and multimedia titles.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Programming 10 credits (at least 5 credits object-oriented programming) Usable systems 2 credits (TDDB43 or equivalent course)

Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The couse is given over a period of ten weeks, and consists of lectures, seminars and assignments.

Course contents:
- Motivation for playing games. - Design principles for games. - Modelling of simulated worlds. - Game architecture: Model - Visualisation - Interaction. - High-level languages for game development. - Application of game programming techniques.
