Aim:
This course intends to provide an introduction to multivariate statistical analysis methods applied to the fields of economics, engineering and science. Using statistical software the course furthermore provides ability to analyse data, interpret and scrutinize results and finally draw conclusions from the analyses. After completing the course the student should be able to:
- Utilize the multivariate normal distribution for construction of, for example, confidence regions for a vector of means.
- Give an account of the conditions for the multivariate analysis methods.
- Choose the proper analysis method in a given experimental situation.
- Give an account of conclusions of completed computations and form an opinion of the reasonableness of these conclusions.
- Use the multivariate options of the statistical software package MINITAB.
