Aim:
The course shall give knowledge of industrial robots in different application areas and give a base for how it is possible to use industrial robots for the creation of effective and flexible manufacturing cells and systems.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
The basic courses in the Masters Engineering Programmes (mathematics, engineering mechanics and production engineering).
Note: Admission requirements for non-programme students usually also include admission requirements for the programme and threshhold requirements for progression within the programme, or corresponding.

Organisation:
The course includes lectures and a project task which result is to be presented orally as well as in a written report.
|
|
Course contents:
The industrial robot, mechanical design, robot controller and programming. Simulation tools and methods for geometrical simulation of manufacturing systems in design of robot based manufacturing cells and systems. Tools, fixutres and grippers in different handling and manufacturing processes. Sensor control of industrial robots in manufacturing processes. Material handling systems and part magazines in robot based manufacturing systems.
