Aim:
The overarching aim of this course is to bring knowledge about statistical theory and methods, i.e. basic decision-methods applied to random data.
Furthermore to point out applications in technology, economics and science.
When the course is finished the student will be able to:
- define models for describing random data
- use statistical methods on random data
- report on conclusions from calculations and to judge the reliability of the conclusions
- use the statistical computerprogram named MINITAB
- critically examine models and statistical analysis that will be met in other courses of the programme, as well as in publications (e.g. scientific documents) and in media
