Aim:
The main objective is for students to develop knowledge about contemporary and emerging perspectives on value creation, and skills to analyze and experiment with value creation perspectives. Technological advancement, the shift from a goods driven economy to value driven economies, as well as advancements in production technology, requires new understandings of how value can be created, and how such value creation is experienced and coordinated. After the completed course the student shall be able to - Describe different approaches towards value creation - Analyze a value creation system from several different perspectives - Compare and contrast value creation approaches in relationship to systemic perspectives - Critically examine and argue for and against different approaches towards value creation

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Three years of completed university studies. Admission to masterâ?Ts programme in Design Knowledge in models of value creation, basic design proficiency.

Organisation:
The course will be organized around small design experiments and analytic workshops in a studio or living lab setting, supported by lectures, in-depth reading seminars, and critical writing. Experiments are presented and assessed through reframing peer-sessions and structured critique sessions.

Course contents:
Contemporary perspectives on value creation such as, sharing, collaborativity, cocreation, coproduction, commons, networks. Experimenting with value creation. Analytic techniques and modelling methods. Critical and reflective reading and writing.
