Aim:
Introduction to some recent subjects in fourier analysis, in particular wavelets, which have important applications in both mathematics and system engineering.

Prerequisites: (valid for students admitted to programmes within which the course is offered)
Linear Algebra, Caculus in one and severel variables, Linear Analysis or Fourier Analysis.

Organisation:
Lectures and problem seminars. The course continues during the spring semester.

Course contents:
Some basic notions of Hilbert space theory and generalized Fourier series. An introduction to wavelet theory.
