| AIM OF THE COURSE |
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- identify, explain and apply the bases of classical and modern rhetoric.
- use the rhetorical bases in a professional context.
- inform and argue, orally and in writing, according to established rhetorical, occupation specific and linguistic conditions both individually and in groups
- critically review own and others' rhetorical tools.

| CONTENTS |
| The course contains the theory of rhetoric and rhetorical analysis based on the concepts of ethos, pathos, logos, but also mentions practical rhetorical tools and perspectives, such as disposition, body language and voice. Sender/receiver perspectives and master suppression techniques with examples from working life are further discussed. The course also contains presentation technique and argumentation analysis. |
| TEACHING |
The course includes lectures, seminars and independent studies.
Compulsory parts
OBL1 - Participation in oral presentations.

The course is examined orally and in writing
Examination codes
MRE 1 Oral presentation, 3 HE credits
SRE 1 Written presentation, 4.5 HE credits
Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination. |
