| AIM OF THE COURSE |
On completion of the course, the student should be able to: - account for the sensorimotor development of children and adolescents - adapt and lead motor exercises and games based on the different circumstances, needs, maturity and motor development of children and adolescents
- elaborately account for the goals and guidelines that concern motor function and playing in current steering documents for primary and lower-secondary school, and give examples of how these can be evaluated

| CONTENTS |
| The course covers the motor and perceptual developments of children and how to stimulate this development. With gymnastics and play as the means, students will try different applications based on the didactic perspective. Both practical applications and theoretical advanced studies are included in the course. |
| TEACHING |
| Working methods in the course are seminars, lectures, workshops, literature studies and group assignments. The student continuously documents and reflects on the course contents in portfolio form. |
| EXAMINATION |
The course is examined through practical and written presentations of group assignments and portfolio.
Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.
Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades. |

| A grade of Pass with Credit, Pass or Fail is given for the course |
| CERTIFICATE |
| Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division. |

Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.
