CONTENTS
The students acquire systematic analytical skills, enabling them to identify, critically analyse and thoroughly account for complex processes of social, cultural, technological, scientific, political, environmental and/or bodily change and transformation where intersectional gender analytical approaches are pertinent and appropriate. Against this background, the students build relevant case studies, and they learn systematically to identify, critically assess, select and account for relevant theoretical, methodological and ethical frameworks, and to use these to develop pertinent analytical strategies vis-à-vis the case. During the process, the students also acquire in-depth knowledge and skills enabling them to systematically and critically argue for their choice of theoretical, methodological, ethical and analytical frameworks against the background of an overview of relevant research and development debates within the field of Gender Studies – Intersectionality and Change.
TEACHING
Lectures followed by discussions take place in the online classroom. Knowledge is further reinforced during online-seminars and -workshops. In between online-seminars and -lectures students study the course literature independently and communicate with each other online in peer learning groups, supervised by student tutors and teacher(s). The learning process will include training in collaborative team work and productive integration of different knowledge bases of individual team members.
EXAMINATION
The course is examined through active participation in the online-seminars and -workshops, through continuous written individual assignments, submitted online, and through a case study, which is to be documented in a written report, submitted online.
