| AIM OF THE COURSE |
On completion of the course, the student should be able to
- use basic knowledge about and understanding of general criminal law,
- use good knowledge and demonstrate understanding of the parts of criminal law that concerns economic values, both regarding general criminal law and certain parts of the special criminal law,
- identify and analyse different courses of events from a penal law perspective,
- test both objective and subjective criminal prerequisites on concrete cases,
- reflect on positions regarding criminal law penalty issues. |
| CONTENTS |
| The course is mainly devoted to general criminal law. This includes various concepts and principles, for example constitutional state concept, the legality principle, concepts of fault and responsibility, concepts of offence and offender, trial and preparation and accessory and omission. The remaining part of the course, about one third, is focused on rules concerning economic criminality. This includes tax offences, fraud, dishonesty crimes, debtor crimes, counterfeiting and insider dealing. |
| TEACHING |
| Teaching takes the form of lectures and exercises. Further, seminars and written assignments, to be solved in groups and/or individually may occur. The student is also expected to study independently, individually or in groups. |
| EXAMINATION |
The course is examined through written and individual examination. Occurs seminars and written assignments are they part of the examination.
Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.
Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades. |

| A grade of Pass with Credit, Pass or Fail is given for the course |
| CERTIFICATE |
| Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division. |
