AIM OF THE COURSE |
The course introduces the problem of school bullying through a historically and geographically contextualised approach which prioritises the child’s perspective. In doing so, the course considers not only mainstream psychological approaches to school bullying but also interactional, gendered and institutional dimensions by drawing on a wide range of literature from Scandinavia, Europe, Asia and Australasia. The course also introduces students to current approaches to dealing with the problem of school bullying and seeks to develop the students’ own ability to design informed and well-rounded approaches to dealing with bullying in schools. Emphasis is placed on the child’s perspective. The course will be taught in English and is directed at students on undergraduate programs as well as people with everyday life experience. |
