AIM OF THE COURSE
On completion of the course, the students should have acquired:
- basic knowledge of concepts, theories and problems within the field of globalisation,
- knowledge of concepts, theories and problems within the discussion about global justice
- ability to describe and critically examine ethical problems and arguments in the discussion about global justice
- capacity to argue for a position in the discussion about global justice
- ability to express an open and critical attitude towards positions and arguments in social ethics
CONTENTS
The course focuses on theories of globalisation and theories of global justice. A central topic is the concept of global justice, its different interpretations, its relation to human rights, its implications for new global actors like NGOs and corporations, its justification and various suggested ways of its implementation. Texts in this area are studied.
TEACHING
In the course, students read and analyse texts, participate in group discussions, write papers and are actively involved in seminar discussions. In addition, lectures are provided.
EXAMINATION
Active participation in seminar discussions is required.
The course is examined by writing of a paper.




Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

At least one year of undergraduate studies and at least 30 ECTS credits in a relevant subject (such as ethics,
philosophy, religious studies, political science etc). Documented knowledge of English. This means a TOEFL-score of at least 550 (213 for the computer-based test) or an equivalent test if your native language is not English. For Swedish residents, "Engelska B" is required.

The course is graded according to the ECTS grading scale A-F
