| AIM OF THE COURSE |
On completion of the course, the student should be able to
- describe and explain central ethical theories and concepts of relevance for questions concerning work.
- in oral form, discuss, analyse and take positions on different views within occupational ethics.
- apply ethical theories and concept on concrete work-related cases and situations. |
| CONTENTS |
| The course covers central ethical theories, concepts and problems that concern working life in modern society such as questions about the value of work, employers and employees responsibilities, rights, just salary, gender equality, leadership and supervision. Valuation issues of relevance for both public organisations and private companies are covered, as well as the professional ethical rules of different professions and questions about the meeting with customers, clients, patients and associates. |
| TEACHING |
| The teaching takes the form of lectures and seminars. The students should also study independently. |
| EXAMINATION |
The course is examined through written individual work. Detailed information can be found in the study guide.
Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course two times are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.
Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades. |

| A grade of Pass with Credit, Pass or Fail is given for the course |
| CERTIFICATE |
| Course certificate is issued by the Faculty Board on request. The Department provides a special form which should be submitted to the Student Affairs Division. |
