Aim:
The course is intended to give basically knowledge in construction and function of a microcomputer, speciality in the view of a hardware designer.

Prerequisites:
TNDE 40 Digital Electronics TNDE 61 Digital Design TNDE 55 Analog Electronics TNDE 50 Introduction to Programming

Supplementary courses:
TNDE10 Design with microcomputers, 10p

Course organization:
Education in form of lectures/exercises and laboratory work. The course is ended with a project where every small group construct there own card computer and write a report. This project is used instead of a written examination

Course content:
A simple computer model, how microcomputers work, memories, different number systems, binary arithmetic, design of microcomputer systems, design of a interface card with A/D- and D/A-converters, one microcomputer family is studied in detail both in sense of hard- and software, programming in assembly, interrupts, card with computers, pratical work in laboratory is finished with a construction of a cardcomputer
