Aim:
The course aims at giving the student detailed knowledge of the mateiral wood as raw material for furniture, doors, windows and kitchen cabinets.

Prerequisites:
Wood Technology, basic course (TMTR 19) is recommended

Supplementary courses:
TMTR 22 and TMTR 23

Course organization:
The course consists of lectures, laboratory exercises and study visits.

Course content:
The chemical and growth physiological micro structure of wood and its influence on strength and other characteristics. The characteristics of different kinds of trees, domestic as well as foreign. Drying of wood will also be treated and the problems connected to this process. The course is given in period 2.
