Aim:
The course shall give insights in the best way to organise the Production, due to the environment and resource utilisation in order to achieve technical and economical competitive Production.

Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge in coputer system and computer programming, Manufacturing, Control theory, Design, Material science, Ergonomics.

Course organization:
The teaching is given i Lectures, Seminars and Laborations. Visits to industrial plants play an important roll for the understanding of the automation questions and understanding of feasible solutions implemented in industrial environment. One major project work is included as an essential part in the course. This is to be presented and published as a report. The time consumption expected to reach 100 h for the project alone. Consulting hours for inquires and hints are included in the timetable.

Course content:
Automation with hardware like Irb's, Computer Numerical Controlled machines and transportation equipment integrated to a Flexible Manufacturing System. Development and design of parts feasible for effective automated manufacturing. Information technology feasible for shop floor utilisation and control. Manufacturing system layout and capacity planning and production flow analyses. System configuration for automated manufacturing and planning control. Management, Project management and interaction between Man-Machine is included in the course plan.
