Aim:
The course gives the participants an introduction to microprocessors and peripherals and also practical skills in programming and system design.

Prerequisites:
Attented NFYB 41 and NFYB 42 (or equivalent).

Supplementary courses:
NFYC72 Microcomputers in Measurement and Control.

Course organization:
Lectures, exercises,seminars and laboratory lessons.

Course content:
The course includes fundamentals of microcomputers and their peripherals: CPU's, memories, serial and parallel I/O-ports, tape, floppy and other mass memories, CRT, plotters and printers. Data collection: AD-converters, multiplexers, amplifiers, sample/hold. Communication: RS232, SCSI, I2C, IEE488 and other busses. Programming in assembler.
