Aim:
The aim of the course is to give deeper knowledge within the area of human physiology.

Prerequisites:
Equivalent attemded basic program of biology with fullfilled "threshold"-demands (passed 50p with a min of 25p theory).

Course organization:
The course consists of lectures and laboratories (human and animal experiments). The results of the experimental work should be discussed at seminars. Some patophysiological problems are studied in smaller groups during the course (problem based learning). The course also include a literature study which should be presented in a written report (in English) and at seminars (oral presentation).

Course content:
The lectures include: basal neurophysiology, autonomic and central nervous system, muscle physiology, endocrinology, hematology, respiration, circulation, renal physiology and gastrointestinal physiology. The experimental part consist of both in vivo and in vitro laboratories and computer simulations.
