Aim: To provide basic knowledge in animal physiology, systematics and morphology.Prerequisites: Accepted to the educational program of biology with participation of Chemistry 1, 20p (or equivalent).Course organization: Lectures, laboratory course and seminars.Course content: The course intend to provide a basic knowledge within the field of systematical, morphological, physiological and evolutionary zoology. This will include functional anatomy, physiology and histology of representative animal groups. In addition, the course will include basic embryology and developmental biology. Experimental physiology including the use of live animals (approved by the ethical committe for the use of live animals) can be included.Course literature: Hickman, Roberts, Larson. 1997.
