Aim:
After taking this course the student should be able to identify the main security problems in modern computer systems and choose effective methods and techniqes to overcome such problems.

Prerequisites:
Any of the courses treating basic computer science.

Supplementary courses:
TSIT 98 Cryptology

Course organization:
The course contains lectures, seminars and laboratory work.

Course content:
Structure and terminology of the subject. How to maintain availability. Formal security criteria. Authentication of user identity. Access control. Cryptology and its use in security tools. Network problems and solutions. Security management.
