Aim:
The course aims at giving the students detailed knowledge of wood as raw material for furniture, doors, windows and kitchen cabinets.

Prerequisites:
Wood Technology, basic course (TMTR 10) is recommended

Supplementary courses:
TMTR 22 and TMTR 23

Course organization:
The course consists of lectures, laboratory exercises and study visits.

Course content:
The micro structure of wood and its influence on strength and other characteristics. The characteristics of different kinds of trees, domestic as well as foreign. Drying of wood and the problems connected with this process will also be treated. The course is given in period 2.
