Aim:
The intention with this course is to give the students basic knowledge of fluid mechanics and heat transfer.

Prerequisites:
Analysis, Algebra, Thermodynamics and Mechanics.

The course is divided into three parts Fluid mechanics Heat transfer Project

Course content:
Fluid mechanics: Introduction. Basic equations. Bernoulli equation with applications. Dimensional analysis. Force on a body in a moving fluid. Laminar and turbulent flow. Pipe flow. Compressible flow in nozzles. Boundary layer. Recirculating flow. Heat transfer: Heat conduction, free and forced convection, and radiation. Overall heat transfer. Numerical and analytical methods for heat transfer problems. Heat exchangers. Project: An industrial application is analysed and the problem is solved. Written and oral presentation of the result.
