Aim: The aim of the course is to give a physical understanding of phase transformations based on a thermodynamical description that can be applied in metallurgy, materials science or construction materials engineering. Prerequisites: TFFY70 Physics of Condensed Matter part I TFFY25 Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics.Course organization: Lecturen, laborationsCourse content: Crystal phases, defects in crystals incl. vacancies and dislocations.
