Aim:
The course shall give understanding of the problem of extracting the essential informations from signal of various type. The course shall also give knowledge about methods and algorithms for solving this problem, with applications in, for example, communication, supervision, etc.

Prerequisites:
TSIT64 or 66, TSDT 69, 70 or 71.

Course organization:
The course is organized in lectures/lessons and laboratory work.

Course content:
Transforms of signals and systems, in particular the discrete Fourier transform. Filter design. Modelling of signals. Filter design using statistical theory, Wiener and Kalman filters. Methods and applications in adaptive filtering, for example noise cancelling.
