Aim:
The course is to give understanding of significant properties in dynamic time discrete systems, and for systems that are affected by stochastic disturbances. Also to give knowledge of methods of controlling such systems.

Prerequisites:
TSRT 13 Automatic Control Y, TAMS15 Mathematical statistics, first course for I.

Course content:
Sampled data controllers: The computer as a controller. Sampling of signals and systems. Discrete time systems: Mathematical description of linear discrete time systems. Controllability and observability. Stability. Description of disturbances: Deterministic and stochastic disturbances. Stochastic processes. Frequency description. Prediction of time series. The Kalman filter. Synthesis of controllers: Dead-beat and minimal variance strategies. Optimal control. Linear quadratic theory. Observers. the Separation theorem. Multivariable systems.
