Aim:
The course is to give the basic theory needed to solve more difficult control problems.

Prerequisites:
Mathematical description of linear multivariable systems in continuous and discrete time. Controllability and observability. Stability. Description of disturbances. Synthesis of regulators. Sensitivity and robustness. Linear quadratic theory. Observers. The separation principle LTR-methodology. Nonlinear systems: The effect of nonlinearities, phase planes, stability. Lyapunov theory, the circle criterion, describing function. Optimal control. the maximum principle.
