Aim:
The purpose with the course is to give proficiency to analyse and to certain extent to design electrical circuits, consisting of linear passive components. The course shall give directly applicable knowledge and be preparatory for other courses as well.

Prerequisites:
Part 1 of TAIU 21 Calculus and Linear algebra, TSIU10 Introduction to Circuit Theory.

TSEI50 Linear Systems, TSEI70 Automatic Control, TSEI64 Telecommunication, TSEI66 Filters, TSEI55 Analogue Electronics, TMEI68 Electrical Engineering.

Course organization:
The course is organised in lectures/lessons and laboratory work.

Course content:
DC and AC theory with the complex method. Periodic signals, Fourier series, mean values, power. Impulse response, convolution, Fourier transform, frequency function, magnitude spectrum, phase spectrum, power spectrum. Laplace transform, transfer function, poles and zeros, stability and causality. Introduction to the realization of passive continuous-time filters.
