	Aim: The course will give basic knowledge of systems for production, transmission and distribution of electrical power under both normal and unnormal conditions. Course content: Global energy and environmental problems. The energy supply of Sweden and the edity of the swedich electrical power system. Choice of cables with rated voltage max 1000 V with regard to current carrying capacity, protection against overlod and protection at short circuit. High voltage alternating current transmission. High voltage direct current transmission. Short-circuit calculations. Switchboard and switchyard and their components. Overload protection. Overvoltage protection.
