Aim:
The course will give an introduction to information technology, experience of project work, skills in written and oral presentation in Swedish.

Course organization:
During the lectures the theoretical part of this field is presented. In laboratory work the students practice programming and use different application programs like spreadsheets, wordprocessors and database systems. In the lessons the laboratory work is prepared. The guidance in project work includes training in writing and oral presentation in smaller groups.

Course content:
History of computer science. Fundamentals of computer hardware and software. The Swedish regulations in computing, computer security. Information retrieval. Working in projects. Introduction to programming in C++. Technology information. Technical reports. Presentation technology.
