| Aim: The purpose of the course is to provide the knowledge in solid mechanics necessary for the student to be able to perform solid mechanics computations upon completion of the course.Course organization: Instruction in the form of lectures, classes, and laboratory exercises.Course content: -Solid mechanics: Concepts and definitions, tensile testing, voltage, strain, buckling, elasticity module, Hookeâs law -Stress cases: Tension, shearing, torsion, bending, and buckling -Composite stress: Normal stress, normal and shear stress -Moment of inertia, cross-sectional resistance -moment diagram and transverse diagram Course literature: To be announced | ||
