Aim:
The course gives the fundamentals of mechanical vibrations. The emphasize in this course is the understanding of the physical phenomena contained in mechanical vibrations rather than the mathematical treatment of vibration theory.

Prerequisites:
TMKT06 Machine Elements and TMME02 Mechanics

Supplementary courses:
TMME40 Vibration Analysis of Structures

Course organization:
Lessons, excersises and laboratory work.

Course content:
Simple systems of 1 and 2 DoF up to a general theory for multiple DoF. Vibrations of beams and rotor dynamics. Various types of excitation mechanisms are discussed.
