Aim:
The course will provide a general orientation describing how a CAD system works and is used, understanding of the geometric models which serve as the basis of the system, as well as practical experience using a computer aided design system.

Prerequisites:
Drawing techniques and basic computer skills.

Course organization:
Introduction and basic skills are provided by means of lectures and exercises. The advanced section is based on an independent project with a design assignment.

Course content:
History and general orientation of how CAD systems are designed and used. Various geometric models, the basis of CAD systems, i.e. wireframe, surface, and solid models. The relationship between CAD and various calculating and preparatory modules.
