Aim: The aim of the course in Ergonomics and Organization of Industrial Work is to give an understanding of humans needs, possibilities and limitations in industrial work. - The student should get an insight in the design of the industrial work and production according to the needs and abilities of humans, - understand relationship between industrial work, technology, organization and psycho social aspects, - be able to use their knowledge in the design of demand specifications and when consulting experts, - knowledge about the labour market, laws and regulations in the field of ergonomics.Prerequisites: - Course organization: Lectures, class interaction and laboratory exercises.Course content: Work organization and workplace design. Work organization and human needs, the Swedish model, motivation quality and productivity, Scientific management, human relations, rationalization, sociotechnological systems perspective, redesign, machine interaction. Psycho social working conditions. Psychological load and stress, leadership, group membership, change and development of work organization. Musculoskeletal loading. Anatomy, anthropometry and biomechanics. Physical work environment factors. Noise, vibrations, light, chemical hazards and climate. Economic consequences from work conditions. Consequences for the individual and the company and of work-related injury and absence due to illness. Labour market, laws and regulations.
