Aim:
This course will provide more insight of advanced semiconductor devices, their physics, limitations, and the development of new device concepts based on heterostructures, superlattices nanostructures. The participants will also be given an overview about the state of art device research and the main ideas for industry applications as well.

Prerequisites:
TFFY34 Semiconductor Technology or TFFY35 Semiconductor Physics

The course is given in English.

Course content:
Electronic band structures (review); carrier distribution, recombination, and transport theory; physics and simulations of different semiconductor devices, including p-n junctions, metal-semiconductor contacts, heterojunctions, nanostructures, various bipolar and field effect transistors for high speed and microwave uses; optoelectronic devices.
