| Aim: The course is aimed at giving basic knowledge concerning the biochemical reaction pathways of micro-organism, and to give an overview of various biotechnical and bioanalytical methods.Course organization: The course is given in the form of lectures. A one day practise is also a part of the course.Course content: The course starts with a general overview of biochemistry that contains parts as properties of proteins, enzymes and enzyme kinetics, cell regulation and sugar metabolism and the DNA-replication. The course also treats biochemical aspects of microbiology such as fermentation technology, and the hybrid-DNA technology. Furthermore, various bioanalytical methods are described, some of which are special clinically analysis, others are industrially important methods. The practical moment deals with analysis of gases produced by aerobic/anaeroboc growth of bacterium by use of an "electronic nose" and other types of bioanalytical methods. | ||
