Aim:
The course is intended to give a good knowledge about basic classical physics and their applications in modern technology. The subjects that are thought are: thermodynamics, electromagnetism, and wave mechanics. The course also includes experimental problem solving sessions and laborations.

Course content:
1. Thermodynamics: temperature, heat capacity, equilibrium, the first and second laws of thermodynamics, entropy 2. Electromagnetism: Coulombs law, the electric field, potential, capacitors, electric current, magnetic fields, Amperes law, electromagnetic inductions, Faraday's law, alternating currents, 3. Maxwell's equations, electromagnetic waves. 4. Wave mechanics: harmonic oscillations, waves, the wave equation, sound waves. 5. Basic measurement technology.
