NMAC02 Regression and Analysis of Variance with Design of Experiments, ECTS-points
/REGRESSIONS- OCH VARIANSANALYS MED FÖRSÖKS PLANERING/

Advancement level:
C

Aim:
The course is intended to teach the students how to use different linear models and models for the results from factorial experiments. Design of experiments, selection of models, and ability to interpret the results and to draw conclusions are important.

Prerequisites:
A first course in probability and a first course in statistics, for instance NMAB 06.

Supplementary courses:
NMAC13 Statistical Theory, second course

Course organization:
Teaching consists of lectures, lessons and obligatory computer exercises.

Course content:
Random vectors. Multivariate normal distribution. Multiple linear regression. Stepwise regression. Single-factor (including random effects model), two-factor and multifactor experiments in theory and practice. Randomized blocks, Latin squares and related designs. Complete 2^k factorial designs and fractional factorial designs. Guidelines for designing experiments.
