Aim: The course gives the participants a theoretical overview on mathematical methods and practical skills for applications in fields like wave physics, optics, quantum mechanics and solid state physics.Prerequisites: Attented NFYC51, Mathematical Methods for Physics, part I.Course organization: Lectures, exercises and problem solving. Course content: The course includes functions of a complex variable and calculus of residues. Nonhomogeneous linear differential equations. Green's functions. Special functions: Hermite functions, Laguerre functions, hypergeometrical functions. Fourier series, Fourier and Laplace transforms. Integral equations.
