Aim:
The course gives the participants a theoretical overview on mathematical methods and practical skills for applications in fields like wave physics, optics, quantum mechanics and solid state physics.

Prerequisites:
Attented NFYC51, Mathematical Methods for Physics, part I.

Course organization:
Lectures, exercises and problem solving.

Course content:
The course includes functions of a complex variable and calculus of residues. Nonhomogeneous linear differential equations. Green's functions. Special functions: Hermite functions, Laguerre functions, hypergeometrical functions. Fourier series, Fourier and Laplace transforms. Integral equations. Green's functions for Poissons, Helmholtz, and diffusion equations.
