2010 MASTER'S PROGRAMME IN ADVANCED COMPUTER GRAPHICS 120 ECTS credits
Aim/vision The aim of this Masters Programme in Advanced Computer Graphics is to provide the student with a sound, broad technical basis in high performance computer graphics through the compulsory course set. The offered courses will equip students for projects in specific application areas related to gaming, film special effects, virtual reality and visualisation in the final stage of the programme. The programme serves as a solid basis for a skilled computer graphics developer across a wide range of specializations or for further studies as a PhD student, either at Linkvping University or elsewhere
Programme goals The following learning outcomes will serve as measurable goals towards the implementation of the general aim of the program. These objectives are formulated in terms of capacities competences of the students who successfully complete the program.
Content of the Programme The master's programme is both theoretical and applied. A number of courses will provide the students with the mathematical and programming skills needed for more advanced master courses. Advanced courses in film special effects, games development, virtual reality techniques, data visualisation, real-time rendering, modelling and animation, and 3D computer graphics are offered. Every year the programme board decides what courses will included in the programme. This is found in the Curriculum. For each course there is a course plan, describing the learning outcomes, organization, examination, the classification of the advancement level, and to what subject area the course belongs.
Master's Thesis The thesis encompassed scientific work corresponding to 30 ECTS Credits. Thesis work is expected to be carried out within a relevant subject area of computer graphics. Thesis work should be supervised by a faculty member within the computer graphics field.

Requirements for a degree The programme is designed to give the Master's Degree "Teknologie masterexamen i medieteknik" translated to "Master of Science (2 years) with a major in media technology".. The requirements are the following:
