Entrance Requirements for programmes given in English
- Minimum admission requirements for the master's programmes include a degree from an internationally recognized university equivalent to a Bachelor's degree at a British university. The university has to be listed in the latest edition of the International Handbook of Universities/World List of Universities or Other Institutions of Higher Education*.
* European students within the EU/EES who do not hold such a degree are eligible provided they can show that they are registered for the last semester of a programme leading to such a degree. An official document stating that they are likely to be awarded the degree by the start of the programme must be sent in with the application.
* Students from countries outside the EU/EES who do not hold the required degree by 1 February, but are registered for the last semester of a programme leading to such a degree, are welcome to apply for courses within the master's programmes and apply to the second semester of the programme when the required degree has been awarded.
- Language requirements:
Applicants to master's programmes given in English must also prove that they have a very good command of English, both written and oral. This is normally attested by means of an international language test:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test and 79-80 on the internet-based test.
- International English Language Testing Service (IELTS), minimum score of 6,0, no band lower than 5,0
- Cambridge ESOL Certificate of Proficiency in English/CPE or Certificate in Advanced English/CAE.
Students with previous studies at a university with English as the only language of instruction, according to the latest edition of International Handbook of Universities/ World List of Universities and Other Institutions of Higher Education, do not have to take any language test.
- Specific requirements
Students must also meet the specific requirements, see below.
Generella krav för antagning till masterprogram på svenska
- Kandidatexamen eller motsvarande*
- Gymnasiebetyg i Engelska A, eller motsvarande
In addition to the general requirements, the applicant must also meet the specific requirements that apply to the different programmes, see below. The specific requirements may be assessed as not fulfilled if
- the average grade is in the lower third of the grading scale used in the country where the degree was awarded (i.e. grades have to be average/pass level or above, the equivalent to the Swedish grade "Godkänd")
- the degree does not qualify for admission to equivalent master's programmes in the country where the degree is awarded.
