TTIT45 | Calculus part II , 6 p (sw) /Analys för IT, del II/ Advancement level: B | |
Aim: The student shall be able to use confidently those mathematical concepts and methods that are needed in applications in natural science where several variables are used. Furthermore, the students shall be able to show proficiency in calculus, problemsolving and modelling and they shall be able to analyse the results of the models.Course organization: We try to apply problem-based learning, PBL.Course content: Topology, limits and continuity in several dimensions. Partial derivativs and chain rules. Differentiability, tanget planes and gradients. Taylor approximations and series. Implicit functions and inverses. Extreme valuse with and without restricted domains. Lagrange multipliers and method. Multiple integration with applications. Change of variables in multiple integrales. Sequences and infinite sums of functions. Pointwise and uniform convergence. Convergence in mean. Power series with applications on differential equations.Course literature: According to a list of literature. |
