Aim:
The aim with the course is: - to give knowledge and ability in traditional AC- and DC- circuit theory - to give knowledge i elementary amplifier technology and ability - to analyse electrical circuits containing diods and transistors - to give basic knowledge and abitlity in measurement technology

Prerequisites:
TATM 03 Calculus D or TATM 06 Calculus Y TATM 18 Linear Algebra I

Course organization:
The course consists of lectures and, in connection with these, exercises and laboratory work.

Course content:
Components and elements: Resistor, capacitor, inductor, diods, bipolas- och FET-transistors. Ideal models. Voltage sources, current sources. Dependent sources. Theory for direct current: Ohms law, Kirchhoff laws. Series- and parallel connection, current and voltage devider circuits. Mesh-current and node-voltage analysis. Superposition. Reciprocity. Théveninīs theorem. Nortonīs theorem. Delta-to-Y-transformations. Linearity, Non-linear circuits. Sinusoidal steady-state analysis: Phasor diagram. Phasors. Impedance and admittance. Mutual inductance, transformers. Power. Resonance circuits. Maximum power transfer. Introduction to filter theory. Bridges. Introduction to Fourier series analysis of signals. Introduction to amplifier technology: The transistor as a switch and as an amplifier. Q-point and samll-signal analysis of common-emitter and emitter-follower configuration. Differential amplifier. Operational amplifier, basic principles. Logarithmic units for gain. Measurement technology: Measurements of current, voltage, impedance and power. The oscilloscope. Probes. Electrical disturbances, grounding- and shielding.
