| Aim: The course will give a survey of systems for production, transmission and distribution of electrical power. The course will also give knowledge in electrical installation technology for buildings and within industrial plants. The course aim also to give skill in using modern computer aided design and construction methods.Prerequisites: TNDE78 Electric Machines TNDE65 Power ElectronicsCourse organization: The teaching consists of lectures, exercises, project work and laboratory work.Course content: General course: Global energy and environmental problems. The energy supply of Sweden and the swedish electrical power system. Danger in electrical systems and legislation. Choice of cables with rated voltage max 1000 V with regard to current carrying capacity, protection against overload and protection at short circuit. High voltage alternating current transmission. High voltage direct current transmission. Overvoltage protection. Overload protection. Switchboard and switchyard and their components. Process monitoring. Project work: Swedish and international standards. Electrical installations for buildings. Motor drives. Contactors. Overload protection. Actuator circuits. Electrical installations for industrial plants. Block diagrams and circuit diagrams. Item designation. Wiring tables. Cable tables.
