Aim: The aim of this project course is to give the participants in-depth practical understanding and experience of a progressive view of quality as regards product, activity and business development in Swedish industry. By applying previous knowledge in a structured and methodic way the project work will form part of a continuous improvement and development effort and thus aim at helping the organization at which the project is carried out. The participants are also expected to acquire knowledge of how development projects are carried out and what methodology is suitable.Prerequisites: The following combinations of course blocks within the research area of Quality and Human-Systems Engineering are required: Quality Management & Process Development (TMQU25) and Design for Quality (TMQUxx) or Humans, Technology, Organization (TMIA20) and Quality Management and Process Development (TMQU25) or Humans, Technology, Organization (TMIA20) and Ergonomic Design (TMIA30) or Ergonomic Design (TMIA30) and Design for Quality (TMQUxx) Course organization: The project is carried out in close cooperation with industry and extends over three study periods. The work is carried out in groups of 2-5 people and involves at least four whole-day visits to a company. Teaching in analysis and development methodology is given interleaved with the practical part of the project. The work concludes with the presentation of a written report. At an early stage contact is established with a number of companies to make it possible to carry through the project course. For this reason we can only guarantee a place in the course for those students who have made their selection in the spring before the start of the course. Course content: Analysis and development methodology, process mapping, task analysis, interview techniques and systematic improvement work.Course literature: Notified at start of course. |
