Aim:
The purpose of the course is to provide the student with basic knowledge of how to model and analyze the motion of an airplane, particularly with regard to stability characteristics.

Prerequisites:
Analysis, Algebra, Mechanics, Aviation, Aerodynamics, Automatic Control.

Course organization:
Teaching is in the form of lectures, classes and computer exercises.

Course content:
Aerodynamic forces, static stability, three dimensional rigid body dynamics, equations of motion of an airplane and their linearization, longitudinal and laterial modes, dynamic stability, autopilots.

Nelson, R.C.: Flight Stability and Automatic Control, McGraw-Hill, 2nd ed. 1998
