| Aim: The course will familiarize the student and provide the ability to analyze some of the most important machine elements used in mechanical designs.Prerequisites: General qualifications for admission to lm3. Course organization: Lectures, classes, and design assignments in the form of a group project.Course content: Joints (screws and bolts, shaft-hub connections, springs), rolling bearings (wear, rolling element bearings, plain bearings) and transmissions (brakes, clutches, gears).
