| Aim: Pictures are often used in engineering to effectively describe various parts or systems of parts. The primary purpose of the course is to provide an understanding of the relationship between three-dimensional objects and two-dimensional illustration. Prerequisites: General admission to the M program.Course organization: The course begins with an introduction to drawing techniques, with exercises in sketching. The next section introduces the use of the computer based tool CAD.Course content: Drawing techniques: Drawing basics with special emphasis on understanding views, cross-sections, and projections.
