Aim: After passing this course the student should have: - insight in aspects concerning how technological systems should be designed taking into account the operator's needs, abilities and limitations. -insight in the interaction of man-technology-organisation and its influence on security, quality and productivity. - adequate knowledgein order to be able to make demands on and order technical equipment from different actors and - knowledge about the labour market and laws and regulations in the field of work environment.Course organization: The course consists of lectures, class interactions, laboratory exercises and a project workCourse content: Interaction Man-Technology-Organisation. Definition of Ergonomics or Human Factors. Human Reliability - the cause of accidents and how to prevent accidents. Anthropometry - adaptation of work tasks for human physical conditions. Physical Work Environment Factors - such as climate, light, noise and radiaton. Cognitive Ergonomics - adaptation of work tasks fo human ental condition. Design of Displays - controls or steering devices. Process Steering Control. Automation - pros and cons. Organisational and Socio-Psychological Aspects. Ergonomics and Quality. Labour Market Laws and Regulations. |
